Oxycodone and other items lead to drug charges for man

Having outstanding warrants is something that some people just don't expect. Imagine how horrible it would be to be going about your daily schedule only to be stopped by police officers and then you find out that you have an open warrant. That is exactly what happened to one man, but he ended up with additional charges based on what was allegedly found in his vehicle.

The man was stopped by Maryland State Troopers on US 340. The 28-year-old man was driving a 2004 Chevrolet when he was stopped. After stopping him, the officer discovered that the driver had a warrant. In the course of the stop, officers claim to have found a syringe, drug paraphernalia and oxycodone. The man was taken to jail.

While he was released with notice of a court date on the open warrant he had out of Montgomery County for theft of less than $1,000, he was held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on charges of equipment to administer illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and possession of oxycodone.

This man not only has to deal with the issue of the theft out of Montgomery County, he now has to deal with drug charges out of Frederick County. With charges pending in two counties, it is important that he determines the most appropriate way to handle these cases.

Anyone who has been charged with a crime, such as drug crimes, has the right to present a defense. Knowing the law goes a long way toward offering an adequate defense that can work in your favor when you go through the system.
